The biggest issue for us in doing one of these “Local Look” posts for an artist we’ve already covered a bunch (And we mean, like, a BUNCH) in these pages is making sure we contain this to a novella size and not a whole novel, y’know? Think one of the books in the original serial version of The Green Mile and not the combined 432 pages of all six mini-books together. Anyway! Carissa Johnson is playing this year’s In Between Days Festival, appearing on the Arbella Insurance stage on Day 1 of the event happening on August 19th & 20th over at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy and we have some words (Again, just some words) to share on why you should make it out early to catch the live spectacle in person!
Something old, something new, something Blue… Hour??? We ain’t talkin’ wedding bells up in here! We’re talkin’ about your BEST Carissa Johnson primer for the upcoming IBD appearance which happens to be the new re-issue of 2021’s Blue Hour out now on Rum Bar Records that gives you the whole Electro-infused Space Rawk (Which still retains Johnson’s fantabulous brand of earnest, heartfelt sonic stories despite the grand presentation) of the original 10-track album as well as tacking on 2020’s The Good EP featuring the more electric band format of The Cure-All’s (With Nick Hall on drums, Steph Curran on guitar) along with newest release L’Heure Bleue, After Dark that has six different, stripped down and remixed versions of BH tracks.
Blue Hour Deluxe is out now on Rum Bar Records and can be gotten by clicking here or on the stream below.
