Temptress Offer A Different Kind Of Heavy On Diverse Against All Odds

“Delightfully different” is the most appropriate description when talking about Manchester, New Hampshire’s Temptress. Breaking out of the Industrial genre after “Chemical” debuted last Halloween (Read all about it in our review here), Against All Odds offers up three brand new tracks that explore the trio’s sound even more by incorporating Electro, Soul, Hard Rawk, and even Hip-Hop to create this immensely interesting musical entity that’s sure to be your new favorite thing.

“Alpha Omega” is epic to start and such a progression from what’s come before. Moving from a sound that’s at times reminiscent of the hyper-Electro stomp of Crossbreed with vocalist Jake Funk switching from barking bars to a flow that’s eerily similar to a Chris Cornell snarl (Think Ultramega OK-era) during the anthemic chorus, “Alpha Omega” sets the tone for a band that refuses to be tied to any one genre.

John DiGeronimo’s sticks drop a steady staccato to start off “The Evil You Know” before Anthony Coy’s hypnotic guitar plucks intricately throughout this anxiety-ridden ditty which offers a different kind of heavy as Funk’s vox traverse a bevy of styles, soaring to a soulful range one minute and then reaching a guttural wail the next.

“Oswiecim” is beefy and brutal with driving guitar lines from Coy on this driving Hard Rawk rager delving into another facet of Temptress’ musical personality as ominous overtones and synth flourishes reveal the trio to be ever evolving and relentlessly refreshing to experience.

Against All Odds lands on August 28th. You can pre-order/pre-save yours now by clicking here and preview the tunes now by clicking here. For more on Temptress, check them out across the interwebs by clicking here, here, or here.
