Your favorite new artist of 2024 is already here?!?! That can’t be right, can it? But just listen to the Alt Americana meanderings coming out of Boston’s TELL and, ahem, tell us we’re wrong, okay?

From the moment “Owned” sashays in with a steady rumble from Jay Raffi’s bass and Chuck Ferriera’s sturdy drumming (Patrick Crann has since replaced Ferriera) that lays the foundation for David Wildman’s glistening choruses to soar side by side with Wildman, Ken Rothman, and Jim Foster’s guitars it’s pretty evident that Life In Reverse is going to be a memorable trip. And the trip just keeps getting better the deeper you dive into TELL’s latest!

“Sweet Life” is instantly an ageless classic tapping into the earnestness of Pearl Jam and Paul Westerberg or Ruin The Nite and The Cars if you wanna stay local with Wildman’s words spilling out like poetry on a track that really captures that “Boston sound” especially when you get to the catchy, big chorus. “Shotgun” gets its’ boogie on with the way Raffi’s bass gallops in then goes to an equally neat, nifty, and dynamic place with just enough quirk to channel a little bit of Talking Heads while “Shell” just lays bare the TELL sound and reveals even more depth and an ever expanding palette of sonic styles. “I Wish I Could Believe In God” follows for a further foray into heavenly harmonies before “Space Time Continuum” ambles in with its’ big synths and bigger crooning from Wildman with Foster, Crann, and Raffi accenting every note on a rousing finale.

Life In Reverse drops on February 9th and you can get a taste now via their Bandcamp here or by clicking below for “Sweet Life”. For more from TELL, including all the info about their record release party at Middle East, follow them across ye olde socials when you head here, here, or here.
