Singles! War On Alexandria, “California”

It seems like almost every other week we’re getting new music from War On Alexandria and that suits us just fine because in an age where newer bands introduce themselves to the masses with a slew of singles that are basically variations on the same theme, it’s refreshing to hear the Boston-based quartet offer up something new each and every time they drop another piece of sonic art.

From the Fleetwood Mac meets Jar Of Flies-era Alice In Chains tendencies of “Deprived” through to more recent tracks like “The Void” and its’ dark moods or the anthemic “Give Me Company”, War On Alexandria is bringing the range much like they do with their first release of 2021 entitled “California”.

Slowing things way down (Gasp!) and entering ballad territory to start the track, War On Alexandria still continue down a dark path with an intricately woven story told through music. Vocalist Emma Keefe digs deep on this one, mostly going it alone sans back up vox from guitarist Liam McCain to belt out some of her most powerful verses so far to echo the burgeoning sonic storm concocted by McCain’s screaming guitars, Lucas McCain’s thunderous bass rumbles, and Corey Spingel’s lightning-like percussive attacks.

Accompanied again by a truly masterful video treatment that echo’s the tale, War On Alexandria create the total package to completely enthrall listeners once again with their unique brand of audio and visual storytelling.

“California” is out now and available through all your favorite digital outlets. You can check out some of your streaming and purchasing options by clicking here. For more on War On Alexandria, follow them on the socials by clicking here, here, or here.
