Chances are if you have an album about nerdstuff (Read: comics), are from Boston (Well, mostly), and have a name similar to the only beer Mrs. RNRF actually likes then we’re going to be into you. And wouldn’tcha know, The Roland High Life checks all those boxes!
A song that hits on two fronts, newest single “Scotty Says” is both an ode to the independent spirit of the Punk scene that the members of The Roland High Life came up through as well as a tribute to a fallen friend who sadly lost a battle against depression and addiction. Also of a dual nature are the sounds crafted by TRHL with the first run sounding like Blues Traveler (Because harmonica, of course!) meets Counting Crows meets The Lemonheads with poignant lyrics and an all around Alternative Americana feel. Then there’s the sort of Hyde to that Jekyll of an intro which opens up the anthem crooning floodgates and dials in the “Boston sound” tenfold to channel Dropkick Murphys levels of sing-a-long moments before the more muted aspects of the beginning bits come back into play.
“Scotty Says” releases on November 10th and you can find everything about all of that, including pre-save and pre-order links, when you head here or head here which is conveniently enough also the place to go to keep up on all things The Roland High Life with links to social media across the interwebs in addition to where you can find the rest of their music like that aforementioned “nerdstuff” album called Songs About Comic Books & Mid-30s Malaise.
