Flexing their genre-crossing chops in anticipation of their upcoming debut double album (Very Truly Yours, arriving on December 15th), SWTEVL unveil another side of the new joint from Tairrie B. and Mick Murphy that’s not so much a departure from first single “Hellzapoppin'” (Read our review of that here) as it is a new dynamic in this big, bold aural odyssey that’s only just begun.
With “Monochrome”, SWTEVL get eerie and hypnotic with the track that collectively captures the feel of Danzig’s original quartet of classic solo albums but set in the world of David Lynch. Vocalist Tairrie B. gives a more subdued performance that’s equally sexy and sinister adding to the allure but no less intense than the howls once heard regularly in Manhole. On the flip side of the Murphy coin is multi-instrumentalist Mick Murphy whose instrumental touches on “Monochrome” should excite music fans even more as to what’s in store when Very Truly Yours arrives very truly soon.
“Monochrome” is out now and available for your earholes to consume across all your most favorite streaming services linked together here.
