Singles! Scorpion Tea, “Scarlet Misquote”

From Edley Odowd, who helped bring some truly indescribable new sounds to yer earholes through Psychic TV and Toilet Boys, comes the first taste of what’s to come out of similarly indescribable latest project Scorpion Tea with the release of “Scarlet Misquote”.

Menacing yet vibrant to start then devolving into this macabre meets Post-Rawk thing that ponders what it would sound like if Ulterior and The Cramps formed a band together, “Scarlet Misquote” is pretty freaking stunning as a Scorpion Tea starting point. ODowd’s drums and percussive prowess temper the track as Fern Puma’s bass playing radiantly rumbles. Add in Christian Cruz’s sinister hypnotic riff refrains and Anthony Diaz’s iridescent vocals that tread a fine line between evil and enlightening and you have the makings of some masterful music heading your way soon.

The “Drag on the Night” mix from DEATHDANCE which accompanies “Scarlet Misquote” is a revelation creating a certain luminescence that accents potentially previously unheard nuances and another danceable banger from the duo of Augustus Watkins and KPT.

“Scarlet Misquote” arrives on June 16th through GIVE/TAKE ahead of their debut full-length slated for October. Besides the new track, you can get the jump on the Scorpion Tea train now by snagging a “Dig Your Own Grave” pass for, among the many perks, advance access to the next 2 Scorpion Tea singles as well as remixes and exclusive artwork to name a few.
