The new year brings loads of new tunes like the latest infectious little ditty from Los Angeles-based Rx27 who follow up last year’s excellent Goth rawker “Gasoline” with “Chasing Crazy”.
Released in October, “Gasoline” (Which you can read all about over here) hit all the right notes for a song that debuted in the season of the witch with its’ overall spooky vibe and Horror Punk aesthetic. “Chasing Crazy”, on the other hand, is akin to a mission statement. It’s two minutes of uninhibited Rawk that’ll entice you through Joie Blaney’s sing-song vocals and Ms. Maxine Murr Derr’s sexy screams and never let you go once the hooks are in. And that’s a good thing!
Filled with The Dust Warrior’s jangly guitars and Thad Coleman’s bouncing bass lines, “Chasing Crazy” is instantly memorable and will have listeners subconsciously singing along with the refrain of “Fuck! Forever!” as this Goth Punk collective, and especially the co-leads, play the part of the pied piper to convert casual listeners into full-time followers.
