Singles! Ruby Grove, “Maybe It’s Time”

Picture this: You walk into The Bang Bang Bar and the vibe, as always, is just right. Before you head to your booth for some clandestine meeting or to do some shady dealings you become completely enthralled with the band that’s just taken the stage who have a sound that’s like Soul Coughing but instead of Mike Doughty at the mic, you get an Old School soulful Bluesy crooner instead. That would be our hot take when it comes to Somerville’s Ruby Grove who have arrived with new single “Maybe It’s Time”.

They’re Big on the Groove, Big on the beats, have a Big voice with Melissa Nilles on vocals and they’re kinda Big on just about everything. With “Maybe It’s Time”, Ruby Grove is entering the fray with a distinct sound that stirs up a sort of magical whimsy with an Indie Rawk edge. Producer Nick Zampiello hits those hits so succinctly (With Sage Gibbons providing live drums for RG) as Cedric Lamour backs up that boom with the low end as well as strumming out those smooth guitar licks throughout. Add in Nilles who not only brings those otherworldly pipes but also that wondrous atmosphere via the keyboards and the writing on the wall is that you should listen up.

“Maybe It’s Time” is out now and can be found in a plethora of locations to stream right this instant when you click here or on the stream below. For more from Ruby Grove, follow them across their socials by heading here or here.
