Singles! Luxury Deathtrap, “Moment to Breathe”

Luxury Deathtrap create the kind of music that rattles yer bones in the best way possible. On their upcoming single, “Moment to Breathe”, the Boston outfit play with heavy yet heartfelt tones to conjure up something that’s equally massive and, most importantly, memorable.

After a full-length in 2018 and a slew of singles since then, Luxury Deathtrap has concocted another impressive soundscape that occasionally brings up ghosts of the past (Boston’s own Kimone, check ’em out here) as well as contemporaries of the now (Lookin’ at you, Harborlights).

Somber yet shimmering, Nicholas McGowan and Erika Hansen’s guitars immediately set the tone before a veritable aural onslaught occurs as Tedros McCrary’s drums and Amanda Stahle’s bass crash the party to open up the Luxury Deathtrap musical palette into glowing new realms.

McGowan’s voice shines through the dark with dense vocal melodies adding layers and a certain textural depth while Stahle’s subtle strums herald an oncoming storm which is only intensified by McRary, whose tapered touches rumble below the surface of these shimmering guitar lines to cap off a brilliant new addition to the Luxury Deathtrap story.

If you weren’t already familiar with Luxury Deathtrap, then what are you waiting for??? Produced by LD and Benny Grotto (Who also accompanies with synths), “Moment to Breathe” is a great primer for those unfamiliar with the band already. And for those currently in the know, their latest single should be a high point in this otherwise shit year.
