We’ve been looking for the perfect opportunity to cover some Linnea’s Garden music in these pages and can’t think of a more perfect moment than the latest single called “In The City” which also happens to feature one of our all around faves, Carissa Johnson!
If you’ve loved all that LG has brought to the table under the “Glam Punk you can dance to” banner then you’re in for a treat with this outlier single that’s some Disco Psychedelia Indie like Gloria Gaynor meets the Rawk of Black Taxi set in the world of Saturday Night Fever. Johnson mostly takes lead vocals here with Linnea Herzog accompanying on back up (With Hands O’d performing that illustrious bass hum throughout) that climaxes with an infectious chorus that’ll have you hypnotically humming along while your toes are uncontrollably tapping long after the final notes ring out.
Accompanying the track is a video showcasing Johnson and Herzog’s impeccable strutting skills inspired by “circuitous late nights in Brooklyn” according to the press release with vivid lighting and an intimate feel to keep the viewer in on the action as the song sashays and sways.
