It’s inconceivable that Pride would pass and Linnea’s Garden wouldn’t be a big part of it in some way whether it’s through promoting their own message of unity and inclusivity via their sound at live shows or just showing up in the community at LGBTQ+ events around the city and supporting fellow musicians at their shows. But what’s this? Linnea’s Garden have done you one better providing fans with an all new anthem that perfectly fits the annual June celebration and also serves as a taste of the trio’s upcoming new EP.
When is an appropriate time in a band’s career to have a defining, “classic” sound? Because that’s what Linnea’s Garden has already. That said, “Chaotic Bisexual Summer” is a delightful delicacy that amplifies Linnea’s Garden signature sound on an autobiographical tale with some airs of Fleetwood Mac/Tom Petty thrown into the Glam Punk fray. And if you have already marveled once of twice at past recordings featuring bandleader Linnea Herzog’s phenomenal wordplay (Most recently with “DB3” on Mirrors) then prepare for another jaw-dropping exercise on “CBS” to the extent that fans who can successfully sing along in the wild should earn a prize! Accompanying Herzog are the always reliable hands of Hands on bass with Ray Clough on drums who both provide a fantastical foundation to accent the vibe.
And on the accompanying kick, you’ll also be able to peep the vibes with your peepers with the video clip (Located here) for “Chaotic Bisexual Summer” which was filmed by Al Crockett, JustBill, and Barry Mauger (And directed/edited by Herzog and Hands) and is as whimsical and playful as the song is with our fellow Rock & Roll Rumble judge Brooke Feinberg making a guest appearance behind the kit (Clough was on the recording, though).
“Chaotic Bisexual Summer” is out now and available through all your favorite DSP’s which you can find all of conveniently located here. And while you’re at that linktree you’ll be able to see how LG is spending their Chaotic Bisexual Summer with a bevy of bodacious live performances starting with a special release show tonight (June 14th) at Somerville’s The Jungle with our friends in Ruby Grove alongside Cindy Lawson and Lovewhip.
