Singles! Eliza and the Organix, “Xmas In Hell”

Let it be known, following a decade+ as a retail warrior, we’re not really fans of Christmas/Holiday music. So much so that we’re not sure that a single Holiday-oriented track has graced these pages? Sure, we love the odd “Weird Al” Yankovic original (Repeated “Christmas At Ground Zero” plays was TRADITION at the RNRF household back in the day) or somber Type O Negative dirge inspired by the season (“Red Mourning”!) and we will NEVER not love the Christmas With The Chipmunks or Christmas Eve on Sesame Street albums (Especially on vinyl!) as a whole.

That all said, we know what we like and we definitely like “Xmas In Hell” from Eliza and the Organix. And to be honest, it’s probably because it’s not a “Christmas” song per se but more of an anti-Holiday jam which we dig. A lot.

Sure there’s tubular bells that start banging out a familiar tome but those soon devolve into the Indie/Alt anthem that is “Xmas In Hell” which is a somewhat harrowing ode to an ex with quite the catchy chorus. Upbeat enough to come off as nice but with a sentiment that definitely dwells in the naughty, “Xmas In Hell” would fit PERFECTLY over the end credits of any Christmas-themed slasher as Eliza Waldman runs the gamut of the multi-instrumentalist moniker playing bass, guitar, keys and synths, as well as delivering an unforgettable vocal performance that plays at being both venerable and vulnerable almost effortlessly.

“Xmas In Hell” is out now and can bring you holiday cheer (Or is that “Holiday fear”???) immediately when you head here or here. And for more from Eliza and the Organix, follow the trail of socials, all of which can be found when you click here.
