Singles! DiabloGato, “Lost Highway”

Art Credit: Charlie MacSteven

Boston + Rockabilly= Amazing?!?! Who’da thunk that? Well, obviously DiabloGato did with their robust Rawk that astounds by aurally awarding your earholes with the sounds you’re treating it to! Did that make sense? Well, neither does David Lynch to many which is quite the coincidence as DiabloGato has chosen that particular auteur to pay tribute to in their latest video for the aptly titled “Lost Highway”!

The song itself is a flex and then some containing all muscle as Charlie MacSteven’s guitarin’ eases you in and Drew Indingaro’s croon acts as a guide as the throttle gets turned up for a Reverend Horton Heat meets Stray Cats by way of Boston banger unfolds. Along the way Jesse Lewis Mayer’s drumming runs the gamut of crushing and caressing your senses with Johnny Custom’s upright bass getting way down low to accent the tumultuous times we’re in for with a little extra atmosphere from Shawn Reilly’s organs. Erm, organ playing!

Speaking of Reilly, have you ever wanted to traverse the Black and White Lodge but were afraid you’d never make it out again? More importantly, when watching Twin Peaks did you think of how cool it would be to see a show while hanging out in that interdimensional pocket space? Well thanks to the watchful eye of Reilly, who directed and edited the video accompaniment, and DiabloGato you never have to wonder because it’s just as fucked up as you’d expect! And if you’re an avid fan of Lynch then the new clip is ripe for repeat viewings to catch all the easter eggs. It also helps that both the song and video kick ass as well making that repeated watch or two or forty easy to do.

“Lost Highway” is out through Rum Bar Records now by heading here or by clicking the stream below with the Reilly-directed video arriving on April 17th. For more from DiabloGato, follow them across the interwebs by clicking here, here, or here.
