We don’t think Boston’s Already Dead is getting enough credit in terms of their anthem-making ability. But maybe latest single, “Landlord”, will change all that as bandleader Dan Cummings lays down the sweet guitar, piano, and harmonica sounds that, when coupled with his gruff yet glowing vocal delivery, envelopes ye olde earholes like a warm blanket.
We hesitate to say Dropkick Murphy’s because being from Boston, they’re the obvious comparison to Already Dead sometimes but if you take their own anthem-making ability and combined it with The Gaslight Anthem’s Americana tendencies and you’d have a little clue of what the latest from Already Dead is all about. Tack on some vivid storytelling over a soundtrack that’s seemingly so simple but in reality is a compressed collection of notes just waiting to be explored more and the newest Already Dead track is yet another step in the right direction from the burgeoning Boston outfit.
“Landlord” arrives on October 6th and you can get yer pre-save on now by heading here. For more from Already Dead, including chances to catch the band live in the wild, follow them across their socials which are all conveniently located together here.
