Siiickbrain Invites You To An Expansive Art Pop Journey With My Masochistic Mind

There’s been this wave collective of fantastic creatives recently made up of artists who provide art that’s visually stunning as well as aurally satisfying with the range of genres mixed, matched, butchered, and beautifully reworked into something new. This kind of Art Rawk movement for us has been spearheaded by some potent Pop to boot with the likes of Ashnikko, Lauren Sanderson, Maggie Lindemann, and WILLOW sharing the weight together and a frequent collaborator of many on that list, Siiickbrain, is here with new full-length My Masochistic Mind to make a statement of her own.

Speaking of statements, that’s exactly what opener “Three Eyes” is as it sets the stage amidst a brief stylistic synopsis and a pulsating Electro-tinged intro that gives listeners just a little taste of what Caroline Miner has to offer as Siiickbrain with the journey truly beginning on latest single “Psychopath” which rears its’ head next. Feral yet fantastical, “Psychopath” is this maniacal Trap meets Industrial banger with Siiickbrain effortlessly switching between viciously snarled verses and a vibrant stirring chorus that throbs before a heavy beats-driven finale.

“Parasite” comes in all ominous like before slinking into a mechanical The Downward Spiral-style stomp with yet another special chorus that’s guaranteed to burrow its’ way into your earholes not unlike the way the Ceti Eel takes control of one’s headspace in The Wrath Of Khan. But pleasant. “LIAR” is a palette cleanser and a little Tricky-esque with its’ Trip-Hop vibes while “14 Needles” is a boppin’ dancefloor-ready ditty that succintly slams. “Die Quietly” is like the yin to the “LIAR” yang with Miner’s vocal performance bringing a heavenly aura versus the hellfire spewin’ happening on that previous track while surrounded by some lush propulsive Pop sensibilities and then “IDOLS” is a gnarly little Electro/Industrial diatribe that absolutely creeps.

“Fear God”is a bouncing beaut of beats, bleeps, and boops adding to the ever expanding sonic palette that Siiickbrian is presenting on MMM with “I Am A Machine” continuing the expansiveness with this modern Pop-Punk jam that’s put through a Drum and Bass blender. “Transcendence” eerily amps up before settling on a sound akin to some heavier peers like Youth Code or Wargasm UK stripped of guitars but hyped up on intensity with “Emergency” closing up the MMM shop with a sweeping anthem that’s par for the course in terms of the sonic storytelling that’s unfolded across the record.

My Masochistic Mind arrives on December 1st through Lowly Records and you can get yer pre-save on now by heading here. For more from Siiickbrain, follow ye olde socials by clicking here, here, or here.
