Robot Death Monkey Take The Intergalactic Party Powder, Traverse A Glorious Rifftastic Plane On Latest EP

Artwork by Noven Pratama

Sure there’s some Clutch in the DNA of Edinburgh’s own Robot Death Monkey but when hearing the sheer riffage involved on their latest EP, Intergalactic Party Powder, the vibes lean much more in the realm of early Mastodon covering Kyuss with some good ole Boston Roadsaw thrown in for good measure. How’s that for a hot take?

But I digress.

RDM is heavier and faster than the legendary Baltimore, MD quartet, shreddier than Masto even in their heyday and way more focused than the Desert Rawk progenitors so our hot take ain’t that far off. Hell, opener “Bantha Rider” is like the sum of all those parts yet still manages to break out some new energy throughout this rollicking three and a half minute instrumental aural odyssey. Then “Asgardian Micro Whitey” keeps the momentum rolling with a punchy riff rager that brings the party and the power with vocalist/bassist Shaun Forshaw at the helm with some fierce and fiery words.

“Dragon Clit” takes the momentum set thus far and just runs with it. Fast. With guitarists Fraser Lough and Alan Travers firmly leading the charge for another instrumental trip as drummer Sam Forshaw neatly pummels away, Robot Death Monkey is quickly proving to be a FORCE with “Kittens and Coke” further driving the message home during a furious four minute and change rabble rouser that rawks, rolls, and does all the stuff to make yer ears perk up and your pulse pick up its’ pace.

Intergalactic Party Powder is available now and you can get yer rawk on by streaming or downloading your very own copy when you head here. For the latest from Robot Death Monkey, follow them across the information superhighway by clicking here or here.
