RNRF X In Between Days, Local Look: SLOTHRUST

The more and more we dive into the artists appearing on this year’s In Between Days Festival, the more we realize that our bank account is due for some major withdrawals with all the merch we’re already planning to invest in while also trying to figure out how we’re going to lug everything around all day (Are hand carts allowed on the grounds?)! We’re also realizing that, while we’re trying to keep these preview posts short and sweet, it’s frelling hard with the volume of material some of the artists have out in the world currently. And that brings us to SLOTHRUST who recently dropped what’s essentially a double album within the span of 6 months (Parallel Timeline arrived in September of 2021 with Parallel Timeline (Origins) featuring new and demo versions of PT tracks arriving in March of 2022) and will be bringing an array of those unique sounds to the IBD Stage on Day 1 of the 2-day music and more festival happening at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy on August 19th & 20th.

But anyway!

Those two records are just the tip of the sonic iceberg that Leah Wellbaum, Will Gorin, and touring bassist Brooks Allison will be bringing to the collected masses in Quincy at IBD but if you want to start there then we think that’s a pretty good barometer of what the modern Indie/Alt Rawk outfit will be dishing out on stage. “Cranium” is one of the best album openers ever, “Once More for the Ocean” is that quintessential follow-up song that we’ve discussed often here (That the second song on any album needs to be the strongest) and is a driving anthem and then some, and “The Next Curse” featuring Halestorm’s Lizzy Hale is a Hard Rawk yet soulful number that delivers both heaviness and heart. And that’s barely scratching the surface of what the massive 29 tracks combined bring throughout just those records! And that’s without diving into what came before!

SLOTHRUST will be dropping by the IBD Stage on Day 1 (8/19) of In Between Days and ahead of that you can catch up on all band happenings, including info on their upcoming tour with The Front Bottoms, via the interwebs by heading here for everything everywhere all at once or to the individual social media spaces which you can find here, here, or here. In Between Days Festival is happening on August 19th and 20th over at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy and you can still secure your tickets in advance NOW by heading here.
