RNRF X In Between Days, Extra Credit: 1 Million Strong Powered By The Phoenix

There’s a lot of good reasons to check out In Between Days Festival which happens at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy on August 19th & 20th. From last year’s inaugural run to this year, they’ve only gotten bigger by expanding to 2 days meaning more chances to find your new favorite band! Beyond the music, though, they’ve teamed with Bit Bar Salem for a retro arcade, have Little City Thrifty Vintage Market and The Good Trade Makers Market readying a truly unique marketplace experience for attendees AND have some killer chow ready for hungry bellies. Happening, ahem, in between all that is the most unique aspect of this year’s event which is the partnership with 1 Million Strong that’s brought to IBD by The Phoenix.

But what’s 1 Million Strong, you say? The initiative itself looks to help one million people affected by substance abuse and on the grounds of IBD there will be, according to the press release, a “dedicated lounge space to relax, recharge, and enjoy non-alcoholic drinks. There, sober attendees and their allies, friends, and family can meet up to find a community and head out to festival stages with others who are committed to supporting each other’s wellness.” Having been going to live shows of all sorts and across TONS of genres for almost 30 years now we can easily say there’s never been a safe haven like this in the community and we’re definitely looking forward to checking it out. And it’s located right next to the merch tent so we might be living in that area the entire weekend anyway!

The Sober Retreat tent is located across from the “Shade Tent” and, again, right next to the merch (You can find it on the map below marked “Wellness”).
