RNRF X Capulet Fest: Local Look, Gina Fritz

We think it’s safe to say that most people heading out to a music festival of any sort tends to do a casual search of the artists they’ll have a chance to check out. Some, like us, might even do a deep dive into EVERY band on the bill(s) in the hopes of finding that diamond in the rough and potentially, a new favorite. While we won’t go so far as to say we’ve found such an artist or two or three while poring through the Capulet Fest lineup (Hitting Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park from June 28th-30th) in the interest of remaining neutral right now we will say there’s many a band that should be considered “not to be missed”. Like CT’s own Gina Fritz who get to share their collective stuff on Day 1 of this year’s Capulet Fest (June 28th for those keeping score).

“Over It” is the newest banger out of Camp GF (Who also feature Anthony Fritz, Frank A Soltys, Evan Rakiey, and Brody Briggs) and it’s a thrilling anthem filled with shreddy guitar lines and Gina Fritz’s penchant for wild word play complete with a killer cadence on full display that’s sure to be a crowd favorite for their upcoming Capulet Fest appearance! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Gina Fritz sonic collection available across your most favorite DSP’s right this minute!

Elsewhere there’s the Fake Fragile EP released in 2022 that’s filled with catchy earworm after catchy earworm kicking off with “CASHIN IN” which might be the best break up song you’ve ever heard with Fritz’s biting words coming at listeners with all the fierceness of Jesse Leach but delivered with a Hayley Williams sheen. Keyed Up partner Whitney Peyton pops up on the steady crusher “REMEDY” and then “POLAROIDS” ventures into big bad ballad territory on a piano-laden number that still packs a punch. 2023 saw the release of several stand alone singles as well with the most recent being a Heavy Metal version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” preceded by the dense “Miracle” and another Keyed Up/Whitney Peyton collab on the gnarly “Big Girls Don’t Cry”. Again, these are just a few of the appetizers before you take your drinks from the bar and get seated at the Gina Fritz table for your entrees.

“Over It” is out now and you can find that track and then some by heading here. The deets regarding the rest of the lineup, vendors, tickets and more for the 2024 edition of Capulet Fest can all be found here and for more from Gina Fritz beyond their June 28th appearance at Capulet Fest (Like their show opening for RIVALS at The Webster in Hartford on June 14th), follow them across their socials by heading here, here, here, and here.
