Panic Priest’s PSYCHOGORIA Is An Electro Journey That’s Just Right For All Seasons

More like PSYCHOGLORIOUS, amirite? Panic Priest is BACK and while the latest release might be the perfect sound for the Rocktober season, the nuanced Electro romp is an epic synthetic journey that’s fit for the months that precede and proceed these hallowed 31 days.

“SANCTIFIED” starts us off with Jack Armondo’s swooping vocals that’s undercut by a baroque baritone to transform this Gothic Darkwave banger into a genuine hyper-stylized anthem. “When Daylight Disappears” manages to capture the sentiment of the song title concisely for, dare we say, an epic number that rips and roars as it produces immeasurable bouts of memorable musical meanderings.

“ANGELSTEAL” is an ominous, overbearing stomper with Armondo’s powerful pipes bringing to mind Tears For Fears’ own resident crooner Roland Orzabal while the title track is a dizzying foray into what can only be described as Post-New Wave as it brings out the Dead Or Alive vibes. “She’s My Guy” continues with the dance floor friendly vibes but lays on thick these Gothic overtones adding the lush sonic palette of Type O Negative’s iconic October Rust to Panic Priest’s aural arsenal.

“DEADLUST” is a hypnotic hyper stomp, “Your Tell Tale Heart” is a full on monster mash that subtly pulsates and, at the opposite end of the sonic spectrum, “Self Control” is big and bombastic while building toward a swirling synthetic ecstasy. Penultimate “BLACKFALLEN” gets its’ spooky on within this haunting number that makes way for the grand close to PSYCHOGORIA in the form of “Start The Night” that manages to tie up all loose ends (for now) in a nice three and a half minute package.

PSYCHOGORIA arrives on October 21st through Midnight Mannequin Records and can be pre-ordered now when you head here. For the latest from Panic Priest, click here, here, or here for the PP social media presence across the web.
