No More Blue Tomorrows Live Free And Rawk Hard On Debut Full-Length

Kind of grand all around, the debut full-length from Nashua, NH’s No More Blue Tomorrows has airs of early Front Bottoms and Guster with this kind of Weezer flair for writing catchy anthems and an all around earnest energy that easily reserves NMBT a seat at the big kids table.

“It’s Kind Of A Funny Story” is an exquisite way to start off the record as it’s a nice representation of what NMBT is all about bringing some feel good energy with the way that Connor Coburn passionately posits behind the mic stand while strumming ecstatically away with Zak Lombard as Peter Owen Davis’ own rambunctious rumbles at the drum kit complete the triumvirate nicely. “Lonely” is a big ole Rawk and/or Roll hoedown that shuffles and shimmies in and out of your earholes at a frenetic pace and the kind of song one could easily picture being apart of some barnyard dance scene in a movie (Lookin’ your way Back To The Future III & A Million Ways to Die in the West!) with “If You’re Around” (Co-written by Cameron Gilhooly) coming in hot next with a lush croon-fest courtesy of Coburn.

“As Real As A Heart Attack” is a fun and driven ditty that highlights NMBT’s tight storytelling ability through song while “I Got You” moves and grooves along nicely with Lombard and Coburn trading some rollicking riffs… and if you listen closely, you might hear Carissa Johnson on back up vox. “It’s Cool” is a tonal shift with, dare we say, a ballad? But bouncy? Does that make sense? Just listen to it and you’ll get it, okay? Trust us! Later on, “For Forever” brings in some of that New Hampshire-style twang and a big chorus, “Chaperone” is just as wild and wonderful as when it debuted here last year, and “27 Minutes” is a nice comedown leading into the epic closing number “On The Snowy Streets” which yet again highlights the musical magic Davis, Lombard, and Coburn make together.
