Lurid Purple Flowers Crunch And Caress On Fiery New EP No Sympathy

We’re just gonna come out and say it: No Sympathy packs a WALLOP! Hot on the heels of Mania, the second release from Boston’s Lurid Purple Flowers THIS YEAR delivers four new tracks that are simultaneously delightful and devastating and a sort of anti-Sap in the way this Indie-Grunge trio bring the loud to our earholes.

Under the watchful eye of songwriter/lyricist CA Newcomb (Vocals and guitar), each song on No Sympathy is a unique story, a statement, dwelling in their own world but working cohesively together under the Lurid Purple Flowers banner. It’s that exquisite kind of songwriting that can make the fiery guitar fury heard on kick off “Pink Elephants” mesh so well with a closer like “All it is Was” as Nick White’s jazzy drum shuffles and Ben Caito’s bouncing bass form a rhythmic union that’s just as heavy, but in a more heady way.

In between, listeners get “Is it Me” that has a little more twang to it and hones in on a laid back groove with Newcomb’s jangly strumming echoing her soulful vocal delivery while “Addict” offers up a certifiable modern Alt-Rawk anthem complete with a rad solo from Newcomb as Caito and White build a solid foundation.

No Sympathy arrives on September 23rd and you can get yer pre-order/pre-save on now by heading here. For the latest on Lurid Purple Flowers, follow them across the information superhighway by clicking here or here.
