While we have yet to do a full blown review of 2022’s Vis Viva by Kooked Out, we HAVE covered them multiple times during this year’s Rock & Roll Rumble which kinda counts, right? That said, you’d think that KO releasing a new cassette version of the record would prompt us to maybe do a review now… but that’s where you’d be wrong.
And that’s only because you don’t need us telling you how rad the record is! If you were at the Rumble this year then you saw what kind of crowd the band brought out and the energy that was expunged both from the band and audience when the songs of Vis Viva were performed live. What you do need us telling you is that a cassette (Yes, cassette!) version is on the way, releasing on August 18th and being celebrated with a special release party at The Worthen Attic in Lowell. And having witnessed them a few times ourselves now, you might also need us to tell you that if you are in attendance that night then you’ll be in for a treat! Now go dig out your boomboxes (Look it up!), round up all the D batteries you can, and get ready to blast “Like We’re 21” as loud as you can and maybe compel summer to hang around for just a bit longer.
