Dee Snider Unleashes Incendiary Live Collection With For The Love Of Metal Live

In an age where there ain’t nobody going to a concert anytime soon (In the States at least), it’s refreshing to live vicariously through past performances especially when it comes from such a legendary artist like the almighty Dee Snider. Two years after the former Twisted Sister vocalist’s furious return to all things METAL on the aptly titled studio effort For The Love Of Metal (Produced by Jamey Jasta and reviewed by us which you can read all about here), Snider is back with an audio and visual collection of live performances across the world in support of that record pieced together like one seamless performance featuring new bangers, old staples, and even a surprise or two.

The best thing about live records, to me at least, is how they serve as the greatest version of a greatest hits if you will. You have performances in their most raw form the way they were meant to be heard and typically a setlist which ebbs and flows beautifully from start to finish, filled with fan favorites, maybe a cover or two, and usually a smattering of newer tracks depending on the kind of tour that’s featured.

Which is why For The Love Of Metal Live works so well. Of course there’s going to be “We’re Not Gonna Take It” “Under The Blade”, and “You Can’t Stop Rock And Roll” on here. That’s a given! The magic is when they’re mixed in with newer fare and how well they mesh. It also helps that in 40+ years on the scene, Snider’s iconic voice has never wavered so hearing him belt out something like “I Wanna Rock” from the ’80’s and then diving into the title track from his latest from 2018 sounds effortless.

And if that wasn’t enough, the album also includes an in-concert cover of AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell” as well as a brand new studio track, “Prove Me Wrong”, which follows along the modern Metal standard that For The Love Of Metal throttling longtime fans with an abundance of Groove and Thrash. For the diehards, for those missing live shows, for music fans, and for the love of METAL, Snider’s latest live collection is a definite must-have.

For The Love Of Metal Live releases on July 31st through Napalm Records. You can pre-order yours by clicking here, here or here. For the latest on Dee Snider, follow the socials by clicking here, here, or here.
