Child Bite Find Crushing Cousins On Another Continent For New Split 7″ EP With Black Rheno

Whenever we get a promo with barely a week or less to go before a release it tends to get pushed to the bottom of the “must cover” pile as there’s usually a bunch of other stuff that’s had our attention for some time (Again, we listen to EVERYTHING that comes our way regardless of timing). Obviously, there are some exceptions…like when we get anything from Child Bite. And how could we not drop everything for the barely 5 minutes total of “new” music from Child Bite on this Split 7″ EP (4:42 to be exact) which managed to put the biggest shit-eatin’ grin on our faces and immediately moved this release up to the the top of our “to do” list!

But I digress.

For this new joint split 7″ EP, fans get the aforementioned Detroit area manic Metal monsters teaming with Sydney’s own schizophrenic shredding machine Black Rheno and laying down two songs each live in the Housefox Studio in Australia (Where Black Rheno vocalist Ryan Miller was chief engineer at the time of the recording) of unrelenting bonafide mayhem.

“Death Before Dementia” is classic (Circa 2016’s Negative Noise) Child Bite to the next level with another commanding performance from vocalist Shawn Knight as guitarist Jeremy Waun builds a wall of nascent noise alongside bassist Sean Clancy’s low end labors. Then there’s “Born A Hog”, also from 2016’s Negative Noise, which is even more the raucous rager in a live setting.

“Flea Ridden” rips and is the perfect introduction for the Sydney shredders in Black Rheno to those uninitiated ones out there with “Empire” displaying some of the frenetic intensity that Child Bite brings to the table with a guitar sound that’s like “Honey Bucket” by (the) Melvins on speed. Which is fitting as the track just so happens to wrap all that heft up in just 46 seconds.

The split 7″ EP from Child Bite and Black Rheno arrives on April 29th in the US via Housecore Records and in Australia courtesy of Deadset Records.
