Behemoth Cover Classic The Cure, Drop Some B-Sides On A Forest

Two brand new Behemoth songs recorded during the I Loved You at Your Darkest sessions which absolutely rip spearheaded by a haunting cover of The Cure’s “A Forest”. I mean, what’s not to love here?

Assisted by Shining’s Niklas Kvarforth on lead vocals, Behemoth’s version of the classic track originally found on Seventeen Seconds sounds even more ominous and foreboding than when it debuted over forty(!!!) years ago. Synths greatly accent the devilish atmosphere conjured here as that iconic guitar line echoes on, building into a ferocious conclusion.

“Shadows Ov Ea Cast Upon Golgotha” and “Evoe” definitely have the same vibe of ILYAYD but are still refreshing new slabs of Behemoth greatness. “Shadows…” pummels thanks to Inferno’s fierce bashing and, coupled with Nergal and Seth’s tremendous riffing, offers up just some pure classic Behemoth. On the flip side, “Evoe” is a steady beast with Orion’s low end establishing an unrelenting rhythmic attack when paired with Inferno before veering into some sinister slow downs to keep listeners on the edge of their seats.

And if one version of “A Forest” wasn’t enough for you then you’re in luck because also included here is a live version of the track recorded at Merry Christless in Warsaw with Niklas Kvarforth in tow yet again.

A Forest is available from Metal Blade Records on May 29th. Pre-orders are live now and can be viewed by clicking here. For the latest on Behemoth, follow them online by clicking here, here, or here.
