Asking Alexandria Seek Inspiration From Previous Outings, Produce Heavier Than Hell New Full-Length Where Do We Go From Here?

Massive. Simply Massive. We remember a few year’s back when, being a casual Asking Alexandria on the strength of “The Violence”, were completely blown away by the energy they brought to the Worcester Palladium outdoors while on a tour opening for Papa Roach. From there, we were hooked. And the opening track off their upcoming 8th record, Where Do We Go From Here?, instantly brings back those feelings and that energy we felt during an Asking Alexandria live performance.

“Bad Blood” is the song in question and starts AA’s latest off amidst a torrent of riffs from Ben Bruce and Cameron Liddell with vocalist Danny Worsnop bringing his signature sweeping vocals and vicious verses as drummer James Cassells furiously wails on the kit with Sam Bettley making the playing field all level like with some steady bass strumming. “Things Could Be Different” doesn’t let up either with a Dance/Metal hybrid that’s gnarly, nasty, and yes, MASSIVE.

“Let The Dead Take Me” asks the question: Will Where Do We Go From Here? ever slow down??? We hope the answer is a resounding “NO!” because this is a fun fucking time so far with Bettley’s big bass sounds leading the track along. “Psycho” starts like a mix of Backstreet Boys and Bring Me The Horizon with Worsnop, of course, elevating it way above either of those outfits as the song eventually ups the bombast for one helluva trip followed by a slow start from “Nothing Left” that then practically explodes from the speakers/headphones/what have you and hearkens back to some of those big power ballads of the ’80’s but put through an Asking Alexandria filter.

You ever hear a song and the first time it kicks in you make an audible noise similar to “Fuuuuuuuuuuck!”??? That was us when “Dark Void” dropped by to play. From its’ gargantuan guitar tones from Liddell and Bruce and a huge chorus on top of all of that, “Dark Void” is the epitome of what makes Asking Alexandria one of the best there is at what they do.

“Let Go” is a dynamic, monstrous duet, “Feel” has a remarkable hum smack down in its’ middle with a rad Worsnop scream to accompany that, “Kill It With Fire” goes Punk Rawk for a furious romp that gives Liddelll, Cassells, Bettley, and Bruce a chance to really let loose, and “Holding Onto Something More” is a feverish driving anthem. But wait! There is a slow down somewhere. Only it happens to be the title track that ends the record so does that even really count? Regardless, the acoustic-driven “Where Do We Go From Here?” is still an electrifying end to a larger than life entry into the Asking Alexandria sonic empire.
